I know, we should really be writing about AllSvenskan, which we will, but the greatest league in the world kicks off this weekend and there’s plenty to look forward to.

Has the top four become the top 5?
How will Manchester United cope without Ronaldo?

Here’s my quick prediction for the forthcoming season;

CHAMPIONSChelsea

Chelsea Champions?

For consistency only Manchester United can possibly better them, however I feel the loss of Ronaldo will hinder Manchester United this season. I also believe Michael Owen will prove to be a clever purchase by Ferguson. Owen will get much better service than he had at Newcastle, and I expect him to score at least 20. Chelsea had a good pre season and their two centre forwards are always a real threat. They have 22 international footballers in their squad and also the tallest team in the league, something that I feel gives them an advantage when defending and taking corners.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PLACE -
Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal

Can Manchester City break into the top four this season? I don’t think so. It will be something of a settling in period for City this season. Adebayor was very unpopular with the Arsenal fans and his wastefulness infront of goal makes me wonder if it’s Arsenal, who have done the best business. Every year Arsenal seem to sell more player than they buy but Wenger still seems to get the young guys to perform. A lot will depend on injuries but another trophyless season will have a big effect on future of players like Cesc Fabregas and Arsharvin.

I think Torres will get the Golden Boot and, if together with Gerrard, they can stay fit, and out of jail, they’ll head in front of Arsenal but no Xabi Alonso is a serious blow.

FIFTH - Manchester City

Ok, I could have gone for Aston Villa or Everton but I feel Manchester City will find a formation that works late in the season and that’s when teams like Aston Villa and Everton start to fall off the pace.

Team to Watch - Fulham

Has the once Swedish commentator Roy Hodgson produced a one hit wonder? Can Fulham have another good season? Well, they haven't sold Hangeland or Bobby Zamora, so they could even qualify for UEFA.

Going down - Stoke, Burnley, Hull

I just can’t see any of these three providing any consistency, and if they have a poor start to the season, they may find it hard to recover.

Season starts Saturday 15 Aug 13:45 Chelsea vs  Hull, Live Canal+ 1

3 points Chelsea.
