 Urbanlife says happy national day to all South Africans. Just as we pointed out in a recent article the FIFA World Cup is only a short time away. Judging from the reports in the media, South Africans are looking forward to the tournament just as much as the rest of the world, maybe even more. And for many brothers and sisters living in the African Diaspora, this is the positive focus on an African country that they’ve been waiting for. South Africa, with its history of apartheid, has of course gone through a lot of changes since the release of Nelson Mandela but the country still faces many challenges. The World Cup will hopefully be a catalyzer for continued development and positive changes for South Africa, its neighbors and the African continent as a whole. |
