Police: "Good to smack a negro"
2009-09-27 19:00
A Stockholm Policeman is accused of having abused an African man in connection with a deportation.

After a confrontation a police officer is heard saying to a colleague:
"Good to
smack a negro"

Police authorities in Stockholm are now investigating the events that occurred August 28 at Bromma airport.

After transporting a group of Africans for deportation from Bromma airport one person suddenly refused to step off the bus and board the airplane. In connection with this, the violence and abuse occurred.

Prosecutor Kay Engfeldt recently downloaded the preliminary investigation in which excessive force has not been established. "Such a statement is contrary to the values that are within the authority. The case is shortly up at the County Police head table, "said Patrik Esfandi, a lawyer in Stockholm Police CU unit.

Notes from the editor:

Racism in the Swedish Police is a worrying problem which is has been highlighted before. Unfortunately these matters are not being dealt with and simply ignored. When will the police start a recruitment drive for members from the minorities in Sweden? A more multi-cultural Police force, reflective of the areas it's in, will also find it easier to understand the communities and urban problems.
