Dark glasses, sun cream (black people need sun cream!) and an undying love of reggae music, yes, Urbanlife.se is ready for this years Uppsala Reggae Festival, and with a forecast for Caribbean weather it may be hard to believe we’re in Sweden.
Some have unfairly criticized this years line up for lacking the larger names in Jamaican reggae, but in light of the world economic situation it’s understandable. However, this year’s line-up should not disappoint.
Legendary UK DJ, David Rodigan, the fiery Ky-Mani Marley and the eclectic Third World are just a few of the not-to-be-missed acts this year and you’ll definitely find us swaying to the beautiful sound of Etana recently reviewed here on Urbanlife.se.
With a large amount of Swedish reggae artists performing this year, in true Urbanlife spirit we’ll be supporting homegrown vibes from artists such as Svenska Akademien and Junior Natural (left).
DRUGS!!!!! LOTS OF DRUGS!!!
If that’s the reason you’ve been scared or told not to attend then lets put an end to that. The only thing we smelt at the event last year was delicious Jerk Chicken! And remember, pensioners are allowed free entry so bring the grandparents or parents and let them experience real reggae in the sunshine.
We’ll also be taking a keen look at the police presence which we found slightly intimidating at last years festival and we hope to see them joining in with the spirit of the event.
You won’t find a more relaxed atmosphere this summer.
