Top Tanzanian fashion designer Mustafa Hassanali will visit Stockholm 5 - 12 December 2011 (sponsored by Ethiopian Airlines), showcasing his cosmopolitan couture line to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Tanzanian independence.
Hosted by the Embassy of Tanzania in Stockholm in cooperation with the International Club of Stockholm (ICS), runway shows featuring Mustafa Hassanali's colourful designs will take place on December 8 at the Tanzanian Cultural Night, and on December 10 at the Tanzanian Independence Party organised in cooperation with the Tanzanian diaspora in Sweden.
Mustafa Hassanali's take on fashion reflects his deeply embedded cosmopolitan heritage that comes to life in his clean, contemporary styles. Featured internationally in fashion shows from Italy to India, Mustafa Hassanali gowns were modeled by Naomi Campbell herself as part of the supermodel's Fashion for Relief initiative in 2009.
An all-round talent with not just an eye for universally appealing style, but even a background in medicine, Mustafa Hassanali is renowned for his social entrepreneurship, using his talent and creativity in making a better today and tomorrow.
Among other ventures, he is the brains behind sustainable health programmes in Tanzania including Fashion 4 Health, as well as the Tanzania Women Entrepreneurs & Networking Development Exposition (TWENDE).
