Strange as it might sound the government proposed, back in March, an idea to offer cash bonuses as an incentive for students enrolled in Swedish for Immigrants (Svenska för Invandrare - SFI) courses to complete their studies faster.
Now the thirteen Swedish municipalities (see below) have been proposed to take part in the first phase of the pilot plan to reward newly arrived immigrants who perform well.

Lauryn Hills agent announced today that she will not be able to perform at this years Stockholm Jazz Festival apparently due to health reasons. Much to urbanlife.se disappointment, Lauryn Hill has also cancelled her upcoming tour to Europe. We wish her a speedy recovery.
The promoters of the Stockholm Jazz Festival are now working on a replacement while other artists such as Sonny Rollins, Erykah Badu, Joss Stone, Timbuktu and Titiyo are all booked and confirmed.

An association working for Africans' rights has reacted with fury to a decision by a state agency to preserve the name of a neighbourhood called Negern ('the negro') in the western Swedish town of Karlstad reports The Local.
"I'm extremely upset. The N-word is racist and this just confirms the nature of Sweden today," said Kitimbwa Sabuni of the National Afro-Swedish Association (Afrosvenskarnas riksförbund).
