U.S. President Barack Obama marked 50 years of independence by 17 sub-Saharan Africa countries at a forum in Washington on Tuesday 4th August 2010. More than 100 young African leaders from civil society and the private sector attended. Together with young Americans and U.S. government officials, the participants shared their insights on key themes of youth empowerment, good governance, and economic opportunity.
Straight Talk Africa (part of Voice of America) is an international call-in talk show hosted by Shaka Ssali and they also attended this event.
