The stars come out at night and for Reggae lover the reggae stars come out in July and August. The Öland Roots 2009 has sadly just finished but the Uppsala reggae festival is only a few weeks away. But if you are unable to attend the festivals here are a few alternative events to satisfy all reggae lovers; Chaka Demus & PliersBest known for their beautiful 90’s song Tease me, Murder she wrote, Butterfly, Bam Bam, Gal wine and last, but not least, "Twist and Shout" this famous reggae pair will perform an exclusive gig at Göta cellar, Folkkungatan 45 in Stockholm 4th August, special guest Danjah. Chaka Demus & Pliers were the first Jamaican artists ever to have had three top five hit songs with the hit "Twist and Shout" (based on The Isley Brothers song with the same title) being the most successful. Not even Bob Marley can match the success, which Chaka Demus and Pliers achieved on the English singles charts. Earlier this year Danjah released his first single "My Love". The song has received very good response from the Swedish audience and Danjah is a heavily booked artist for the summer of 2009. The street single "It's Only" is now being released ahead of the second official single. Stay tuned for the next single "Burning Love" coming later in 2009. Guaranteed happy and danceable reggae, if you like singing a la JAMAICAN style, do not miss this event on 28 July and the Reggae doesn’t end there!
