Madeleine FallHi, my name is Madeleine Fall. I am 20 years old, living in Stockholm (Hässelby), and I moved from Senegal to Sweden when I was 14.

Thanks to the different surroundings, which has supported and helped me, I can now speak three languages, namely fluid Wolof, French, Swedish and a fourth English which I speak and write well. I have completed both Primary and secondary education, and now college is my next destination. It feels incredibly exciting and interesting.

As a person I am committed, I like to read and meet people, and writing is a passion for me. I'm responsible for the children and teenagers in the Swedish-Senegalese Association ASS Baobab and also the information officer for the Swedish association Afrikagrupperna.

I have strong opinions about how society should be governed and human rights, but I always try to be open and respectful of other people's opinions.

The reason I chose to write for Urbanlife is that during all of my five years in Sweden, it is the first time I saw a website where you can find all sorts of information about other cultures, particularly Afro-Swedish culture. When I entered the website for the first time I felt "at home," and it means a lot to me to be part of Urbanlife and share with you my views, thoughts and advice.

So I hope you read Urbanlife regularly then you will be able to read articles written by me, which among other things will be about fashion and about how to advance in employment.

Please comment on the articles where you feel you need to say anything; give your opinions on things, it means a lot to us. Urbanlife is here for anyone who has opinions and wants to share.

Hej
